What format types do you offer?
We support XML and any format of Edifact or Tradacoms messages. We can also accept various delimited files.
 
What file transmission do you offer?
XML
For XML we can accept files by FTP or HTTP (XML service or XML File drop off)
 
Edifact / Tradacoms
For either Edifact or Tradacoms messages we can accept messages via FTP or an EDI mailbox.
 
Please note that for both EDI or XML we can offer different transmission types for inbound & outbound messages.
 
We use a managed ERP system, are you able to support this?
We currently support the below managed ERP Systems:
  • Axis
  • Synaxon
  • Prima
  • ECI

If you are currently using one of these systems we can get you trading with Westcoast quickly. Just mail us your Westcoast account code and which service you use.
 
We use a trading hub, are you able to support this?
We currently support the below trading hubs:
  • Stock In The Channel
  • Virtual Stock
  • Netset
  • Onetrail

If you are currently using one of these systems please contact the provider.
 
We want to transmit orders via HTTP, what's the difference between the XML Service & File drop off?
Our XML service is interactive and allows you to post XML and receive the XML response in the same session.
For any messages that wouldn't be immediately available, such as dispatch notifications or invoices, we can post the XML to a receiving URL that you will need to supply, alternatively we can place the XML file on an FTP server for you to collect.
 
Our XML HTTP File drop off method will be a personalised URL that you can post your XML message to. The service returns an HTTP Code response and return messages will be either sent to a URL of your choice or an FTP server.
Please note the Price and availability (PNA) service is only available via the interactive XML service.
 
We have our own XML format, would you be able to map to it?
Yes we can however please be advised that this can increase the project lead time dependant on workload.
 
We want to place orders electronically with Westcoast but can't do any of your format types, are you able to offer a bespoke solution?
We will always try to help, feel free to mail us at [email protected] to discuss your requirements.
 
Is the stock and price in your Price & Availability (PNA) message live?
Yes.
 
Do you accept backorders via EDI?
By default, yes we do. We can offer a "fill or kill" service if you would prefer where the order or order lines are only accepted if stock is available at the point of order.
 
How long will it take for an order to be on your system after we send it?
If sent via the XML service system then the order will be on within a few seconds. If sent via file drop off then we aim to have the response back to you within 5 minutes of receiving it.

Do you have a test environment?
Yes we do, the EDI team will be available whilst you are testing and when you are happy to go live the change will be controlled at Westcoast's end so you do not have to change URL / FTP area.
